FAQs
Q: What is ZOE International?
A: ZOE is not a person—it’s the Greek word for “life,” found in verses like John 10:10 and John 3:16. ZOE International is a ministry that fights human trafficking and brings life-changing restoration to children who have been rescued.
Q: How did you hear about ZOE?
A: Michael and Carol Hart, the founders of ZOE, have been close friends of my parents since I was about 5 or 6 years old. They’ve known me most of my life! They invited me to come to Thailand for 6 months to help train their staff on how to teach the Word of God to children in ways that really stick. That was 18 years ago—and I never left.
Q: What do you do at ZOE?
A: At ZOE in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I help rescued children heal from trauma and know they are deeply loved by God. My role includes teaching Bible studies, mentoring them in daily life, and planning spiritual growth camps and youth nights. I also train and equip Thai leaders to disciple these kids long after I’m gone, so they grow up knowing their identity and purpose. Beyond working with the children, I help lead staff training, develop curriculum, support local churches, and strengthen ZOE’s ability to care for rescued kids with excellence and compassion.
Q: What’s a typical day like for you?
A: My days start early—I'm usually up at 4 a.m. for quiet time, prayer, and getting prepared before waking Justice, my son, and getting him off to school. I'm at ZOE by 7:30 a.m. and work straight through until 1:30 p.m. My ministry includes mentoring and discipling rescued kids, training Thai leaders, preparing lessons, checking in with staff, and supporting events, camps, and outreach. After picking up Justice, our afternoons are for homework, play, and quality time together. Once he's in bed, I finish my work day at home, often working until around 10 p.m. every night. It’s full and demanding—but I wouldn’t trade it.
Q: How does your work help children and families in Thailand?
A: My work focuses on the restoration side of ZOE’s mission. I get to walk with rescued kids as they heal from trauma and learn they are safe, loved, and seen. I teach the Bible, mentor them, and help them know Jesus. I also train Thai leaders so they can do the same in their communities. Our goal is to see families and communities strengthened so trafficking has no foothold here.
Q: Do you speak Thai? How hard is the language to learn?
A: Yes, I do speak, read, and write Thai...though I’m always learning! Thai is a tonal language with its own script, so it was definitely challenging at first. But after years of living here, it’s become part of my daily life. I’m always working on improving, because being able to communicate well in Thai is essential for connecting deeply with the kids and community.
Q: Who is Justice and did you adopt him through ZOE?
A: Justice is my amazing son! I adopted him through Thailand’s government system—not through ZOE. I applied in 2017 and was matched with him in January 2021 when he was 3 years old. We met for the first time the day I brought him home. ZOE isn’t an adoption agency, and the children in ZOE’s care aren’t up for adoption. Justice’s story is such a testament to God’s faithfulness in our lives.
Q: Are you paid by ZOE or do you raise your own support?
A: As a full-time missionary with ZOE, I raise the financial support needed to serve in this role. Donations go toward ZOE’s mission and help make it possible for me to continue discipling rescued children, training Thai leaders, and raising my son while serving in Thailand.
Q: What does my support go toward?
A: Your giving allows me to stay in Thailand full time so that I can...

Care for children rescued from human trafficking

Run youth nights, Bible studies, camps, and outreaches
-
Train Thai leaders and staff
-
Raise Justice in a safe, Christ-centered environment
